About this event
Tim Burton’s beloved modern fairy tale EDWARD SCISSORHANDS (1990) comes to the Gap Theatre in 35mm! Johnny Depp stars as Edward, a gentle artificial man created by an eccentric inventor (Vincent Price) who dies before he can finish his creation, leaving Edward with scissors where his hands should be. Rescued from his lonely gothic mansion by Avon saleswoman Peg Boggs (Dianne Wiest), Edward is welcomed into her colorful suburban community, where his remarkable talents for hedge sculpting and hair cutting make him an instant sensation. But when Edward falls in love with Peg’s daughter Kim (Winona Ryder), his acceptance begins to unravel, revealing the darker side of a world that struggles to accept anyone who is different. Also starring Alan Arkin and Anthony Michael Hall. See this enchanting, bittersweet fantasy on the big screen in 35mm Friday, December 4 at 7pm and Sunday, December 6 at 4:45pm!
