  • On Jan. 15, photographer Jim Marsh was honored by the Western Salisbury Volunteer Fire Company for 25 years of service. He received a plaque mounted on a brick (from the original Swain Station) to mark his longstanding dedication.  Lehigh Valley Press

  • Mack Trucks named Guillaume Giroudon as vice president and general manager at its Lehigh Valley Operations plant in Macungie. He replaces Gunnar Brunius, who now leads digital manufacturing for Volvo Group.  Lehigh Valley Business

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today, the Da Vinci Science Center in downtown unveils the 'Become a Musician' exhibit that lets visitors play a part in Beethoven's Ninth Symphony by picking instruments (each with its own captured sound). The project is a joint effort with the Allentown Symphony.  69 News
  • Pines Dinner Theatre will present the musical love story 'I Love You Because' from Jan. 17 to Feb. 28 at Shops at Cedar Point in Allentown. The show, inspired by Jane Austen’s work, offers dinner and performance options & promises a modern reimagining of a classic tale.  Lehigh Valley Press
  • Daniel Roebuck has scheduled multi-venue premieres for The Hail Mary on Feb. 21 at Banko Cinemas, Bethlehem Catholic, and Roxy Theatre; the film held a cast homecoming on Jan. 9 and will open its theatrical run on Feb. 27 with local sponsors supporting the event.  Lehigh Valley Press
  • EDM DJ and active-duty Navy member Jason Kushy (from the Lehigh Valley) released his EP 'Keep It Moving' in September 2025 and made Beatport’s Top 20 tech house chart; he plans to perform live shows in San Francisco and return to the region as his audience grows.  Lehigh Valley Press

  • DeSales University is hosting a free lunch and learn panel on sports branding and storytelling for entrepreneurs, featuring experts Joe Favorita, Andre Williams, and Elspeth Huyett.   • On Thursday, state reps Peter Schweyer, Michael Schlossberg plus Mayor Matt Tuerk toured the Sonia Sotomayor Dual Language Immersion Academy—where the American Federation of Teachers donated $20K to help para-professionals train as teachers—highlighting support from local staff and the Latino community.  69 News

  • Allentown-based American Bank reported record quarterly and annual earnings as of Dec. 31 with net income rising by 15% and total assets reaching over $1 billion. The bank also saw strong deposit and loan growth and increased investment securities.  Lehigh Valley Business
