  • ARRO Consulting acquired Ott Consulting on January 13, expanding its multidisciplinary engineering and design services in eastern Pennsylvania. Ott Consulting, based in Emmaus, has served the Lehigh Valley reliably since 2003.  Lehigh Valley Business
  • Comcast has expanded its Xfinity service to select homes and businesses in Bethlehem Township and Emmaus as of Thursday. The company expects to serve more than 16,600 customers soon by offering internet, mobile & live TV and on-demand content.  69 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Dashboard Confessional will perform at Archer Music Hall on Tuesday, Apr. 14 at 7 p.m.—tickets go on sale today at 10 a.m. at 939 Hamilton St. and online starting at $52.50.  Lehigh Valley News

ECONOMY NEWS

  • A new report from Construction Coverage shows that median rents in the Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton area are now $1,857 per month, with three-bedroom apartments costing about $2,328. Eligible renters may apply online for a state rebate on taxes and rent paid in 2025.  Lehigh Valley Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • At the Feb. 9 meeting, the East Penn Board of School Directors reviewed K-8 realignment and redistricting options after canceling a January session. Rising costs led them to pause the project to reexamine updated data before the next meeting on Feb. 23.  Lehigh Valley Press
  • Over 500 students competed in the SkillsUSA District 11 Championships in the Lehigh Valley, showcasing hands-on technical skills in 33 events. The event, supported by LVEDC, awarded over $200,000 in scholarships to build a skilled future workforce.  Lehigh Valley Business

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Upper Macungie Township will combine its three volunteer fire departments from Fogelsville, Trexlertown and Station 56 into one unit at the police station as volunteer numbers shrink; the police station will be retrofitted by the end of 2027 while a new facility opens nearby by the end of 2028.  69 News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Allentown’s planning commission approved eight projects last year that will add over 850 housing units and nearly 900,000 sqft of commercial space — reflecting a 58% jump in proposals. The mix includes a 16-story mixed-use complex along North Front Street and other plans aimed at easing the housing shortage.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Emmaus High School cheerleaders performed a 30-minute routine at Lower Macungie Middle School on Feb. 2 to showcase their competitive program and left at 5 a.m. Feb. 5 from Philadelphia for nationals at Walt Disney World in Orlando (powered by $35,000 in local fundraising).  Lehigh Valley Press
  • Bethlehem Catholic's five-year state title run in wrestling ended Saturday when the team lost 37-31 to Franklin Regional and 37-21 to Nazareth for third place (missing key players weakened their lineup, coach Mike Cole said).  Lehigh Valley Press
