COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Storms Monday night left fallen trees and power lines blocking Oxford Drive and Moravian Avenue, and power was restored early Tuesday. Residents are urged to drive carefully and report hazards — local officials are monitoring repairs.  69 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A strong storm last night tore the roof off Emmanuel United Methodist Church, flooding the sanctuary and education center (including the preschool room) and prompting staff to deploy tarps and fans for drying. Restoration experts are assessing damage while church leaders prepare alternative spaces for services ahead of Easter.  69 News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • The New Santiagos Restaurant and La Cocina De La Abuela closed on Tuesday, Mar. 17 after 38 mph wind gusts ripped the roof off their shared building on Route 309 in Coopersburg. Both owners shared updates on Facebook and said they will notify patrons when they reopen.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • RKL LLP was recognized as the top accounting firm in the state, ranking first with 2025 revenue of $151.54 million and 58th nationwide in an industry report by Accounting Today. CULTURE NEWS

  • Kemmerer Museum’s “Baked into Bethlehem” exhibit honors Groman’s Bakery — a longtime family-run fixture that opened in 1927 and closed around 2003. Richard Groman Jr. will lead tours at 11 a.m. on March 21, April 25, May 16, June 20, and July 25 to share sweet local memories.  Bethlehem Press
  • Coral Reefer Band, featuring members who toured with Jimmy Buffett, will perform at Wind Creek Event Center on July 9 at 7:30 p.m. The show — the only Pennsylvania date on their 19-date tour — will have tickets on sale March 20 at the box office and online.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Allentown's Ink Different Tattoos partners with Soul Glow Electric Ink Tattoo to launch a college-alternative apprenticeship program for aspiring tattoo artists. Applications are now open at the studio for an 18-24 month training program that offers hands-on experience and one-on-one mentorship.  69 News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Monday night's storm left over 7,000 customers in Lehigh County without power, and crews worked into early Tuesday to restore electricity as temperatures dropped. PPL officials said they deployed additional resources to monitor conditions.  69 News

  • Parkland School District board is reviewing a proposal for a 10-year tax abatement incentive to support a planned $3.5B manufacturing campus by Eli Lilly in Upper Macungie (Fogelsville Corporate Center near I-78). Directors will vote on the measure at their upcoming April committee meeting.  69 News
