- ➤ Student researchers at Ramapo College used DNA and genetic genealogy to match a foot — found along the Delaware River in 2017 — to Maria Quinones Garcia, a 54-year-old woman who went missing from Allentown in 2014. Daily Voice
- ➤ A federal jury ruled that two Northampton County Sheriff’s deputies did not use excessive force during the takedown of Paul Giammarinaro, a Bethlehem Township resident who claimed his arm was broken though he went to the emergency room three days later, while a former prosecutor said it was unclear how the injury occurred. - ➤ Allentown announced that its free Movies in the Park and Movies at the Pool series will host 12 family-friendly movie nights on Friday evenings from May through October with pre-movie activities starting at 6:30 p.m.—movies begin at sunset. For pool screenings, the pool will close at 7 p.m. and reopen at 8 p.m. based on capacity. 69 News
- ➤ Tacofest will return on June 1 from 1 to 6 p.m. at ArtsQuest Center at SteelStacks. The festival will offer tacos from the Lehigh Valley and beyond, live music, Margarita Madness in the Musikfest Café (with Premium Access tickets available) and a Chihuahua Beauty Contest at 2 p.m. where dog owners may win prizes. 69 News

- ➤ Hundreds of charter school students from Arts Academy Elementary are visiting the Allentown Art Museum this week to learn about music, dance, theater and visual art—part of the new Arts Academy Week program. - ➤ An Allentown charter school has proposed a 4,100-seat multi-sport stadium at 555 Union Boulevard, but Coca-Cola Park—home to the Lehigh Valley IronPigs—has raised concerns over losing 50 parking spots and increased traffic. City officials and planning commission members reviewed parts of the proposal and will address the issues at meetings on Thursday night and April 8. 69 News
- ➤ Pennsylvania’s trout season will open on April 5 at 8 a.m., with anglers allowed to keep five fish daily if they are at least 7 inches long.
