- ➤ Allentown City Council voted Wednesday on a resolution to adopt a plan that will make local streets safer using a grant from the U.S. Department of Transportation. - ➤ The Lehigh Valley Planning Commission said 2024 was a year of growth and change that brought challenges like a 9,000-unit housing shortage and increased development needs, so its budget rose from $5,951,012 to $6,577,690 in 2025. The commission also adopted new plans—including the region’s first multi-regional freight infrastructure plan—and is moving to a modern office in Allentown to better serve the community.
