  • Battle Borne launched the Bring Our Veterans Home Initiative to raise $500,000 for transitional housing in Carbon, Lehigh, and Northampton counties.   • Philadelphia favorite rock 'n' roll revival band Low Cut Connie will headline a free concert on May 22 at the Union Terrace Amphitheater as part of ArtsQuest's Free Summer Concert Series. The event runs from (6-9 p.m.) and invites residents to bring lawn chairs and blankets.  Lehigh Valley News

  • The Lyrid meteor shower will begin on Wednesday, April 15 and run until Thursday, April 29, offering watchers 10 to 20 meteors per hour under dark skies around 2 a.m. Residents are advised to head to a clear, dark spot away from city lights to enjoy this event.  Daily Voice
