- ➤ A 35-year-old man from Lower Macungie was walking on the 300 block of South Third Street on Route 309 in Coopersburg when he was struck by a tractor-trailer early Sunday morning before 3:30 a.m.—authorities said his identity is withheld pending an autopsy scheduled for Monday. - ➤ The Allentown council passed a new ordinance to curb predatory towing practices by requiring companies to register vehicles, display clear business signage, and report all tows to police within 30 minutes—towing companies that violate the rules will be fined $500 or the fee charged, whichever is greater.
