  • Mack Trucks president Stephen Roy announced his retirement, and Wilson Lirmann will take his place on Aug. 1. The company remains active in the Lehigh Valley + its Lower Macungie plant and Mack Experience Center host Mack Defense.  69 News

  • CountryFest will be held at the ArtsQuest Campus on Friday, Aug. 21 and Saturday, Aug. 22 and will feature live country music, food vendors, and activities. National touring acts and local stars, including Clayton Mullen, Luke Borchelt, and Peytan Porter, will perform tribute shows honoring Kenny Chesney and Lainey Wilson.  69 News

  • At the April 14 board meeting, CASD approved Brittany Rabe as the new school counselor and Jaimie Rosentel as the new nurse at Sheckler Elementary to fill positions left by retiring staff (both expressed excitement about joining the team).  Lehigh Valley Press
  • On April 15, the Salisbury Township School District board met at 1140 Salisbury Road where Giant Food representatives donated $2,997.79 (from a round-up program) to replace a serving line at the elementary school, ensuring free breakfast and lunch for all students.  Lehigh Valley Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Shapiro Administration is proposing a minimum wage raise to $15 for all workers starting Jan. 1; care workers may receive retroactive increases if they submit required forms by May 8.
