  • Paws and Pistons Exotic Car Show is set to debut at the Promenade at Saucon Valley with over two dozen exotic cars + pet meetups to support the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, as founders Zach Liptack and his wife Dev aim to raise $5,000 to help shelter animals.  69 News
  • Bushkill Township's annual carnival runs Saturday from 1:00 p.m. (sensory day from 1:00 to 3:00 and general fun from 3:00 to 11:00) and Sunday from 1:00 to 11:00 at the local fairgrounds, featuring the Freedom 250 Mobile Museum (a free interactive exhibit on our nation's 250-year history).  69 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Pinfest 2026 brings 400 pinball machines to the Agri-Plex at the Allentown Fairgrounds today from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for fans to play vintage and modern games — a celebration that grew from a small fire hall gathering into a global event.  69 News
  • Mayfair Festival of the Arts returns at Cedar Crest College over Memorial Day weekend, May 22-24, offering art, crafts & live music. The free event features food, family activities and an illuminated drone show finale to benefit students through the Cedar Crest Fund.  Parkland Press
  • Cedar Crest College hosted a three-week papermaking class in March and April where college students helped seniors learn new art techniques. Both groups created original paper projects that were displayed in Alumnae Hall for Autism Awareness Month + Earth Day.  Parkland Press

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Parkland High School announced its Principal's Honor Roll for the second marking period of the 2025-2026 school year, listing top-performing students from various grades. The release highlights the school's commitment to academic excellence.  Parkland Press
  • Students at Cetronia Elementary School enjoyed the annual book fair last April, where they could shop for paperback, hardback, and custom books. Sponsored by the Parents Association and provided by Scholastic, 50% of profits went back to the school (free books were available for those in need).  Parkland Press

  • South Whitehall officials presented the 2026-2027 Environmental Advisory Council Work Plan on April 15, outlining measures for open space preservation, waste management, and active transportation while community members raised concerns about Project Atlas’ data center emissions (including air pollution and heat impact) and called for more transparency.  Parkland Press

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission voted to advance a model tariff guiding electric distribution companies on how to manage large load customers such as data centers.   • Senior track thrower Parker Ziegenfuss from Whitehall improved his discus and javelin records and is targeting postseason league, district, and state meets in two weeks — a sign he is progressing under coach Nicole Richards.   • On Sunday, the EPC updated *its track and field top performances* as Jeremiah Strowder led the 400 for Kids with a 49.55 time, while Samuel Hayes improved his pole vault mark to 13-3 and Alexa Wiland threw 98-0 in discus.  Lehigh Valley Press
