- ➤ At the PCFLV Hearts of Gold Gala, 350 guests gathered at Centennial Catering and Conference Center as the Pediatric Cancer Foundation raised $350,000 to fund a new family room — part of its capital campaign — and will host its 2026 Luau On The Links Golf Outing on May 15. Lehigh Valley Press

- ➤ Muhlenberg’s Department of Theatre and Dance announced its 2026-27 season of productions featuring large-scale musicals, staged readings, and modern dance showcases scheduled from October 2026 to April 2027 across campus venues. Muhlenberg College

- ➤ The Catasauqua Area School District was chosen for Pennsylvania’s new career-readiness initiative that helps middle school students explore eight career pathways with local professionals. - ➤ The Whitehall-Coplay School Board advanced the 2026-27 budget with a 4.7% property tax hike and plans for staff cuts, with notifications expected by the end of May. Committee meetings will begin on May 11 and a regular board meeting is set for May 18. Lehigh Valley Press
- ➤ Thomas Jefferson University will expand its academic programs into Lehigh Valley in Fall 2026, offering a new onsite nursing program with DNP-Nurse Anesthesia courses and online graduate degrees, while opening a respiratory lab at Lehigh Valley Hospital (Cedar Crest) to boost the local healthcare workforce. 69 News
- ➤ Thomas Jefferson University announced a major expansion to boost health care education in the Lehigh Valley. Starting this fall, the college will offer onsite nursing courses at the Health Network Center (Center Valley) and launch additional academic programs along with a new student housing community in Allentown. - ➤ Supporters and volunteers from The Sanctuary At Haafsville spoke up on Wednesday night at Fogelsville Elementary School—expressing concern that PennDOT's I-78 project will reduce space on the shelter’s 7-acre property in Upper Macungie, with work set to start in 2030 and public comments accepted until June 5. 69 News
