  • Members 1st Federal Credit Union officials celebrated the groundbreaking of a new full-service branch at 1900 Sullivan Trail in Forks Township on Friday. The branch will offer financial services and create jobs as construction continues — a boost for local growth.  Lehigh Valley Business

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Bethlehem Area School District board approved a pilot program to offer free breakfast and lunch at three schools (details on program rollout are pending). This move aims to support local families and students.  69 News
  • At an emotional Whitehall-Coplay school board meeting, the superintendent's plan to cut teacher positions for budget reasons was rejected, and the district will soon consider other options.  69 News

  • The PA Turnpike announced that each of its 17 service plazas now offers two dedicated veterans parking spots along its 565+ mile network. Veterans can park without needing a special placard.  69 News

  • Bethlehem’s Catfish Queen Laura Yeates will hold three 2026 tournaments—'Can't Catch Them from the Couch' on the Delaware River on June 6-7, a new event at Wallenpaupack on Aug. 1-2, and the Catfish Kings on Sept. 5-6— to bring together local anglers and raise funds.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • On Saturday, the Muhlenberg softball team won its first-ever regional title by beating nationally ranked opponents, helping seniors finish their season in time for graduation.
