  • Hal Warner, longtime CEO of the Lehigh Valley Humane Society, died Monday after a long illness + the society will dedicate its main building in his name before his birthday, July 30, to honor his work in animal care.  69 News
  • Lehigh Valley’s first-ever Latino Senior Expo began Thursday and continues today at the Centennial Catering and Conference Center (in Upper Saucon Township). The event connects local seniors with wellness leaders, healthcare providers and lifestyle brands, with all proceeds supporting Casa Oasis Senior Assistant Center.  69 News

  • According to PennDOT, statewide traffic fatalities dropped to 1,047 in 2025 (the lowest recorded since 1928) with most counties, including Carbon and Schuylkill, reporting fewer deaths while Lehigh and Northampton counties recorded slight rises as safety campaigns and infrastructure upgrades helped lower the numbers.  Lehigh Valley Press

  • Salisbury High School Painting Hearts Club introduced a project to distribute coffee sleeves with positive messages to local coffee shops to boost community spirit. Aaliyah Ross, who created the idea, said the club plans to expand its work with art projects in outreach settings, including hospitals, next year + additional initiatives are planned.  Lehigh Valley Press

  • On May 11, Emmaus High School students expressed concerns at the EPSD meeting, urging directors to add research databases, more world language classes, advisory programs for isolated students, and enhanced support for gifted learners and female STEM initiatives — proposals that aim to better prepare students for class.  Lehigh Valley Press

  • Kettle Cuisine has recalled 24-ounce Whole Foods Market Kitchen Minestrone Soup due to undeclared shrimp that may trigger severe allergic reactions for consumers with shellfish allergies; the product (Lot Code 1762181, use-by May 27) was sold in PA and online, and no illnesses have been reported.  Daily Voice

  • Patrick Cornell from Whitehall Township has ridden over 200,000 miles on his 2025 Indian Pursuit, known as Pappy, to raise funds for myotonic muscular dystrophy research.
