- ➤ According to PennDOT, statewide traffic fatalities dropped to 1,047 in 2025 (the lowest recorded since 1928) with most counties, including Carbon and Schuylkill, reporting fewer deaths while Lehigh and Northampton counties recorded slight rises as safety campaigns and infrastructure upgrades helped lower the numbers.
