  • City Cuts Macungie held its grand opening Friday at 6:30 p.m. on Trexlertown Road—kids earned extra money by reading aloud while getting a haircut. ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 22-year-old woman from Summit Hill was struck by two vehicles and pinned under a car nearly 10:30 p.m. Thursday, May 22nd on East Emmaus Avenue in Salisbury Township—she was rescued by the Eastern Salisbury Township Fire Department, taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital in Fountain Hill, and is expected to survive.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • Comcast marked its planned expansion into Bethlehem by donating $30,000 and 50 laptops to the Hispanic Center Lehigh Valley—providing a free resume workshop that aided 20 local job seekers. HEALTH NEWS

  • Lehigh Valley Health Network is growing its neighborhood hospitals—licensed, 24-hour facilities with 11 ER beds and 10 inpatient beds—to ease pressure on larger hospitals in the region. The network opened hospitals in Gilbertsville and Macungie last year, is constructing one in Tannersville, and held a beam raising for its new Hellertown hospital expected to open next year.  Lehigh Valley Business
