  • Neema Hospitality’s Hotels for a Cure campaign is underway, donating $5 per stay to Team Fox for Parkinson’s research at its 10 hotels in PA, MD, and WV from May 22 until September 7.  69 News
  • Dunkin' is hosting its annual Iced Coffee Day today with $1 from every iced coffee or cold brew purchased donated to the Dunkin' Joy in Childhood Foundation to support local children facing hunger + illness. The fundraiser, now in its fifth year, aims to boost neighborhood programs.  Daily Voice
  • The Boutique for Hope is holding its 50th annual sale from Wednesday through Friday at St. Luke's property at 3801 Brookside Road to benefit Cancer Support Community, St. Luke’s Cancer Center + St. Luke’s Hospice.   • Lehigh University invites early-stage startups to apply for StartUp Lehigh Valley, offering $20,000 in prizes and growth opportunities. Applications are due by June 5, and five finalists will pitch live at Musikfest Cafe in Bethlehem on Aug. 4.  Lehigh Valley Business

  • ArtsQuest held a ceremonial brick breaking on the ArtsQuest Campus at SteelStacks to mark progress in repurposing the Turn & Grind Shop (a historic Bethlehem Steel building) into a flexible venue for arts programming, festivals, and community events.  Lehigh Valley Business

ECONOMY NEWS

  • LVEDC discussed state economic programs that helped secure Eli Lilly’s $3.5 billion pharmaceutical campus in Upper Macungie Township today; the project is set to create 850 permanent jobs plus 2,000 construction jobs and boost the regional economy.  Lehigh Valley Business

EDUCATION NEWS

  • An Allentown Jewish day school has become the first Blue Zones+approved school, meeting strict guidelines to boost a healthier learning environment for its students and staff.  69 News
  • Whitehall-Coplay School District board held a special meeting Tuesday night to consider cutting dozens of jobs among teaching, secretarial, and paraprofessional roles to address a $6 million deficit and a planned tax increase. The board said duties would be redistributed among remaining staff.  69 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Upper Macungie Township will host a public hearing today at 6:30 p.m. on a proposal to build a hyperscale data center at Air Products' former headquarters on 7300 Cetronia Road. The plan calls for three data center buildings totaling 2.6 million sqft on 194 acres.  69 News
  • The Lehigh County Sheriff’s Office announced the passing of its retired K9 Nevie, a German Shepherd trained in Explosive Detection and Tracking who served at courthouses and community events until her retirement in May 2025. Sheriff Joe Hanna expressed deep gratitude for Nevie’s service and contributions to community outreach.  Bethlehem Press
  • State utility regulators approved a new rule that makes data center developers pay for extra infrastructure costs if the upgrades would not be needed without their projects. The rule applies to new users of 50 MW+ and aims to protect households from rising electric bills.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is urging Allentown residents, contractors, and businesses to follow electrical safety guidelines as spring projects and outdoor work increase this season. The agency advises calling 811 before digging and maintaining safe distances from power lines to reduce risks.  Bethlehem Press

SPORTS NEWS

  • The US Soccer Federation unveiled its 26-man World Cup roster on Tuesday, May 26 during a nationally televised event in NYC's Seaport; several Northeast natives including Hershey’s Christian Pulisic and Bethlehem’s Brenden Aaronson are set to compete in the tournament beginning Thursday, June 11 at SoFi Stadium near Inglewood.  Daily Voice
