- ➤ A 36 year old Allentown man was charged with assaulting a pregnant woman in Montgomery County and appeared in court Tuesday after he was caught on camera attacking her as she left for work—leaving her with a broken nose, cuts and bruises after she reportedly spoke badly about him. 69 News

- ➤ The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission said electric bills will rise for homeowners and business owners starting June 1 because the price to compare—making up 40% to 60% of a customer's bill—will increase by 5% to 12% for most utilities, with PPL Electric and PECO customers facing larger hikes and Pike County Light and Power seeing a decrease. Small business customers will also see new rate changes as finalized details are made available closer to June 1. 69 News

- ➤ Lehigh Carbon Community College in Schnecksville—near Allentown—announced a new cybersecurity program starting this fall that offers a certificate, three-course diploma or associate degree with online courses in Computer Ethics, Network Security and Cybersecurity Analyst. Officials said associate degree graduates could earn hourly wages of $35 to $60 per hour—figures based on first quarter 2025 data—and the program will prepare students to secure digital systems. - ➤ County divisions for children, youth and family services in six counties were dropped as defendants from 12 lawsuits alleging false abuse misdiagnosis—lawsuits filed last year against Dr. Debra Esernio-Jenssen and the John Van Brakle Child Advocacy Center. - ➤ Residents told city council that driving on Pennsylvania Avenue is dangerous because parked cars and the road’s layout cause drivers to treat it as a two-lane street—resulting in repeated accidents.
