- ➤ A Bethlehem man admitted he ran a $2.6M scam using fake refunds to trick retailers, and on May 27 he was sentenced to 42 months in federal prison—he will also serve three years of supervised release and repay more than $2.6M. Daily Voice

- ➤ The IRS is processing millions of tax returns and expects to send out over $211 billion in refunds this year. Taxpayers in Allentown who filed returns between May 1 and May 31 will receive their refunds based on filing method (for example, e-filers with direct deposit will get theirs between May 22 and June 19) while those living abroad should file by June 16.
