- ➤ North Whitehall Township supervisors on Monday rejected a 501,405-square-foot Nexus 78 warehouse plan on Route 309 due to traffic, safety and community concerns. Trammell Crow officials said they may appeal the decision — arguing that the proposal met local rules after a three-year review. 69 News
- ➤ Allentown’s mayor Matt Tuerk has issued an executive order to speed up the review process for housing projects with 20+ units to address a current shortage of 9,000 units and an expected need of 54,000 units by 2050. The order will move qualifying proposals to the front of the line, and city officials say it will help deliver affordable housing faster amid high development interest and potential future HUD funding cuts. - ➤ Hellertown Borough Council approved a resolution requesting a $230,030 state grant to connect the Saucon Rail Trail with the southern commercial district at Main Street and Polk Valley Road. Project plans include Tumminello Park improvements + a footbridge over the mill race that once supplied water to the Heller-Wagner Grist Mill, with further updates set to come if the funding is awarded in the fall.
