  • At Trout Creek Park Monday, families came together for Monday Funday where they played soccer & painted rocks while enjoying music and games. Allentown Parks and Recreation organized the pop-up event and will rotate it through six parks & host community cookouts until October.  69 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A massive fire destroyed a Coopersburg building that housed a gentleman’s club and apartments on Monday after midnight, marking the second blaze in two weeks with no injuries reported as firefighters battled a collapsed roof and an arcing power line — investigators are now searching for the cause.  69 News

CRIME NEWS

  • In April 2023, Phillip Zulauf, a 75-year-old from Lower Mount Bethel Township, was found dead in a Talen Energy power plant retention pond on Depues Road after he had been reported missing for more than a week. His family filed a wrongful death lawsuit seeking money damages against Talen Energy, its subsidiaries, the Public Utility Commission, and Lower Mount Bethel Township.  Lehigh Valley Live

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Parkland School District policy and finance committee met Monday night to review the 2025-26 general fund budget approved in May that proposes a 4.0% millage rate increase set to raise the average homeowner’s tax by about $168—final board approval is scheduled for June 17.  69 News
