  • New Bethany acquired the former Episcopal Diocese building on Wyandotte Street in Bethlehem to expand services and meet growing community needs. The 6,000‐square‐foot building’s deed transfer became official on May 19—helping New Bethany increase staffing and programs while the Diocese relocates its personnel to the adjacent Nativity Cathedral as it merges with its Central Pennsylvania counterpart.  69 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A man was pulled from the water at Jordan Park on June 11 at 1:22 p.m. after he jumped in and did not come up—firefighters rescued him and paramedics began CPR before taking him to Lehigh Valley Hospital Cedar Crest where he remains in critical condition.  Daily Voice

CRIME NEWS

  • Kevin Michael Esterly, a 52-year-old from Whitehall, was arrested in West Virginia on Wednesday and is charged with multiple felony counts—rape, statutory sexual assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault, unlawful contact with a minor and child endangerment—after police said he repeatedly assaulted a female victim from 2015 to 2018 while serving as a soccer coach and church group leader and he now awaits extradition to Pennsylvania.  Lehigh Valley Live

  • Lehigh Valley Hospital-Muhlenberg became the first hospital in Pennsylvania to install GE Healthcare's new Allia IGS Pulse system after a donation from Steve and Jeanne Follett.   • Officials confirmed that the invasive Asian longhorned tick found in southeastern Pennsylvania now carries the bacterium Ehrlichia chaffeensis, which can cause fever, chills and headache. The tick spreads quickly due to a unique reproduction method—where a single female can lay 2,000 to 2,500 eggs—that accelerates its growing numbers.  Lehigh Valley Live
