  • Allentown’s summer playground program, now in its 111th year, continues today despite rainy weather. Children ages 7 to 15 have eight weeks of free activities held at 11 parks+7 schools and free lunches on Tuesdays+Fridays as sign-ups remain open.  69 News

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A crash on the 700 block of 3rd Street in Whitehall Township around 2:30 a.m. Monday left two people hospitalized—knocking down a utility pole and closing the road between 3rd and Park streets and between 3rd and Quarry streets for an extended time.  69 News
  • At about 2:55 a.m. June 15, a 27-year-old man from Wallington died in a crash on Route 22 in Bethlehem Township—he was speeding over 100 mph and swerved to avoid debris before his car struck trees.  Daily Voice

  • The Bethlehem Area School District board approved a new collective bargaining agreement with its professional staff on Monday—giving teachers raises—and set it to begin next year. The board also reappointed business manager Frank Pearn, named Christopher D’Emilio assistant principal effective July 1, and discussed plans on cyber charter funding and record community college graduation numbers.  69 News
  • Amazon announced plans to invest $20 billion in building tech campuses—expected to generate 1,250 high-paying jobs—for cloud and AI innovation. Local community colleges will form a consortium to launch academies, microcredential, and pre-apprenticeship programs that train tech and construction workers.  Lehigh Valley Business
