- ➤ Allentown man Malik Sean Johnson, 21, is charged with attempted robbery, attempted theft by unlawful taking, criminal use of a communication facility — and possession of an instrument of crime after he reportedly tried to rob a Domino’s Pizza and a 7-Eleven. 69 News

- ➤ Rock fans will enjoy a classic hard rock night at the Great Allentown Fair on Saturday, Aug. 30 when Ace Frehley, Great White, and Quiet Riot perform, with tickets on sale (10 a.m.) today through Ticketmaster.com. - ➤ On June 19th, the Lehigh Valley Transportation Study Committee released a priority list showing top sites for new electric vehicle charging stations—gas stations, retail centers, and public parking lots. - ➤ The South Whitehall Township Board of Commissioners approved advertising a referendum question to add .1 percent to the Earned Income Tax for open space protection; officials said that if the measure fails, it will not be considered again for five years and the board will vote on the ordinance on July 16 with Election Day scheduled for Nov. 4. The board also approved legal review of a new Planned Innovation, Research and Technology Overlay District aimed at modernizing industrial zoning to attract high-paying tech jobs — this voluntary zone includes incentives for data centers and research facilities. 69 News
- ➤ Motorists on the Northeast Extension will face detours as crews work on the Lower Macungie Road Bridge Replacement project. The turnpike closes both directions from midnight until 4 a.m. on Saturday, June 21 - southbound lanes will also close from midnight until 4 a.m. on Monday, June 23 with state police helping drivers.
