  • Camelot for Children celebrated 40 years by hosting a free six‐week summer camp for children with disabilities and their siblings. The camp featured hands‐on activities with a visit from Boyle Construction — and many local high school volunteers helped support the event.  69 News

CRIME NEWS

  • South Whitehall Township police fatally shot 73-year-old Gary J. Moyer at his home on May 28 after he made a false 911 call claiming a shooter was in the area and ignored orders to drop his inoperable rifle—District Attorney Gavin P. Holihan said the investigation found the officers' actions justified with no charges being filed.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • Federal immigration officers raided the Five 10 Flats building in Bethlehem today and arrested 17 workers for immigration violations; officials say the group included 13 from Venezuela, two from Mexico, one from Ecuador, and one from Nicaragua who were working to restore the building after last month's massive fire.  69 News

CULTURE NEWS

  • On Juneteenth, Allentown rapper and producer Red Mcfly and Pas Simpson opened the Hip Hop on the Wall exhibition at Art Haus, 645 Hamilton St, featuring more than 25 works by local and internationally recognized artists. The exhibition will run through July 11—visitors can also purchase a booklet with a QR code linking to Mcfly’s new album No Tears Left Behind.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Transportation leaders in the Lehigh Valley said they are addressing job recruitment and retention challenges for rail, transit, airport and road services. At the 2025 Transportation Forum held at the Mack Trucks Experience Center in Allentown, officials from PennDOT, Phoenix Rail, the Lehigh Northampton Airport Authority & LANTA detailed efforts such as college job fairs, shared internships and calls for state funding to sustain operations.  Lehigh Valley Business

  • The National Weather Service has placed the Lehigh Valley under an extreme heat watch for Monday morning through Wednesday evening next week—heat index values may reach up to 107 and the first official 90-degree day is expected, with forecasts showing 87 on Saturday, 92 on Sunday, 97 on Monday, 96 on Tuesday and 92 on Wednesday. Residents should prepare for the impact of prolonged high temperatures and limited overnight relief.  Lehigh Valley News
