- ➤ Police said that a motorcycle and a car collided on American Parkway Bridge Wednesday morning — the motorcycle rider was seriously injured and the car driver suffered minor injuries — and the roadway reopened after emergency crews cleared the site. 69 News
- ➤ Police said that on Thursday, June 26, 2025, a motorcyclist was seriously injured in a collision with a car on the American Parkway Bridge in Allentown—local traffic was detoured and the bridge reopened at 9:45 a.m.—the motorcyclist was taken to a hospital for treatment while the car driver suffered minor injuries. - ➤ Allentown police arrested six people when they tried to apprehend wanted man Anthony George Fata, who fled into a house at 5:11 p.m. on June 24 at the 200 block of North 8th Street—officers recovered multiple firearms and later charged others with assaulting officers. 69 News

- ➤ An anonymous letter circulated in Plainfield Township claimed that residents will face a 230% tax increase if WM's Grand Central Landfill closes without a replacement — a claim some residents dispute while company representatives say the facility has about four more years of capacity. - ➤ Simone Collins Landscape Architecture is nearly done with its first draft of a parks master plan to guide Allentown's park development for the next 15 years. About 2,000 residents gave feedback through surveys and public meetings, and the draft plan will be published in August + residents will have at least 30 days to review it before City Council approval this fall. - ➤ Yesterday, the Lehigh Valley Planning Commission reviewed a Regional Act 537 plan to reduce future sewage disposal problems at the Kline's Island Sewage System after record rainfall caused hydraulic overloads at Allentown’s wastewater treatment plant. The commission also approved zoning amendments in Palmer Township that add regulations for data centers and fuel cell power systems (a kind of on-site energy generation) to guide local development. 69 News
