- ➤ An Allentown police officer, Patrolman Abviud Carvajal, was charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor simple assault for striking unarmed 54-year-old Thomas Kravitz with his gun's muzzle during a chase on July 23—Carvajal has surrendered, is on leave, and remains free on 25000 dollars bail as the case proceeds.
