  • Two sisters from Nazareth started USA Replay— a nonprofit that gives free used sports equipment to children— and they will appear on Saturday Sunrise today to discuss upcoming replay events and a scholarship for a local senior.  69 News
  • Allentown Fair will hold its first Inclusive Day on Friday, Aug. 29 so guests with disabilities can enjoy a sensory-friendly environment. The fair will offer free admission from noon to 2 p.m.—with wristbands for easier boarding on rides from 2 to 4 p.m.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Matthew R. Hirsch, a 31-year-old motorcyclist from Stroudsburg, died when his motorcycle collided with another vehicle near SR 191 and SR 390 in Paradise Township at about 11 p.m. on Aug. 14—he was pronounced dead at 12:34 a.m. on Aug. 15 at Lehigh Valley Hospital–Cedar Crest.  Daily Voice

  • Mack Defense secured a $221.8M five-year contract to produce up to 450 M917A3 Heavy Dump Trucks—supporting U.S. Army missions worldwide—and will build them at its production line in Allentown. The deal follows the company’s recent production of its 500th truck in March.  Lehigh Valley Business

CRIME NEWS

  • Etienne Theagene, who turned himself in on Thursday, drove at 40.7 mph in a 25 mph zone and fatally struck 75-year-old Edward Tomcics on Water Street in Whitehall Township on Christmas Day and now faces charges including homicide by vehicle, involuntary manslaughter, reckless driving, and speeding.  WLVR
