- ➤ Rubiel Perez, a 31-year-old Allentown man, was sentenced to 15 years in prison by a US district judge for a 2023 robbery spree at 7-Eleven stores — he threatened clerks with a handgun and stole more than $1,000 over two days. Lehigh Valley Live

- ➤ The 46th annual Wheels of Time Rod and Custom Car Jamboree is coming to Macungie—showing antique and custom cars from the 1990s and older for local fans to enjoy. 69 News

- ➤ On August 22nd, PPL Corporation in Allentown declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.2725 per share that will be paid on October 1st to shareowners recorded as of September 10th—this move continues its regular dividend practice. 69 News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ In South Whitehall Township, work on the Route 309 and Tilghman Street interchange project has closed the south ramp so drivers must use a detour via Route 309 to Interstate 78 to Route 222 and finally back to Route 309 north — the detour will remain in effect until September 2026.
