CRIME NEWS

  • Lehigh County District Attorney Gavin Holihan will hold a news conference today at 11:30 a.m.—he will share details of a large-scale drug investigation.  69 News
  • Lehigh County Commissioner Zach Cole-Borghi was arrested at his Bethlehem City Hall office on August 28 as part of a grand jury investigation into an interstate drug ring—he faces charges for marijuana offenses and is no longer employed by the city.  Lehigh Valley News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Country rock group Alabama played their record tenth headlining show at the Allentown Fair grandstand on Thursday — 42 years after their first performance there — and nearly 3,000 fairgoers cheered as most songs were No. 1 country hits. Randy Owen, 75, led the two-hour set while bassist Teddy Gentry, who injured his hand in a fall and scheduled surgery next week, kept the performance energetic.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Brian Koenig, known as the Cup Guy, entertains families at Allentown Fair with his red Solo cup juggling act — while a new Butterfly Kingdom exhibit shows over 250 free-flying butterflies — adding festive fun for fairgoers.  Lehigh Valley News

  • Officials unveiled a two-year expansion at Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School on Friday in Allentown by cutting the ribbon on a new building with classrooms for 4th through 8th graders, a cafeteria, a gym — and a state-of-the-art science lab. The facility was named after founder and CEO Sandra Figueroa-Torres, who was surprised by the honor.  69 News
  • Lehigh Carbon Community College is hosting Fall 2025 job fairs at three sites—Tamaqua, Allentown, and Schnecksville—to help employers connect with job seekers from students, alumni, and local residents. HEALTH NEWS

  • USPS mail carrier Doug Kilgore, who worked for 18 years, was diagnosed with stage 4 glioblastoma on July 23—an aggressive brain cancer. His supporters have started a GoFundMe to help cover his medical bills and have raised over $5,600 toward a $25,000 goal.  Daily Voice
