- ➤ OktoPurrfest was held in Emmaus at Weyerbacher Emmaus Taproom/Triple Sun Spirits on Bank Street and featured live music, games, food, and a contest where participants held a jug of kitty litter—each contest winner received a trophy, beer, and a gift card while eight cat rescue groups displayed adoptable cats. Purr Haus organized the event to support local cat rescues. 69 News

- ➤ Lehigh County will join America's 250th anniversary celebrations next year with the Making History gala at DeSales University—community leaders and members will gather to honor the nation's legacy. 69 News
- ➤ Margot Deppe, a senior at Northampton Area High School, finished a painting that honors her great-grandparents—William 'Becky' Beck and Alice Beck—on the exterior wall at Becky's Drive-In in Walnutport. She worked on the tribute for about two months after her grandmother—Cindy Deppe—suggested the idea, and the family continues to run the drive-in they founded in 1946. 69 News
- ➤ Fleetwood Park came alive with music during the 42nd Berks Fiddle Fest—fiddle competitions, jam sessions and open mic performances drew bluegrass fans and local artists to enjoy a lively day of community celebration. 69 News

- ➤ A study by Neil Jesani Wealth Management showed that several Northeast states offer a new kind of American dream — Pennsylvania ranked 13th for its low cost of living, though wages were lower — as the report reflected a shift toward financial security and balanced living. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Appalachian Trail Conservancy is launching the Appalachian Trail Community Conservation Collaborative — a program that gives technical support and planning tools for 15 teams of local officials, nonprofits, and community advocates to protect areas along the Trail.
