  • Palmer Nursery, a family-owned garden center that spans 15 acres in Northampton County, is helping locals prepare for fall with landscaping supplies and firewood. The nursery will hold a Sunday Funday event — featuring vendors and food trucks — from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.  69 News

  • After facing setbacks including a fire and permit delays, Paranormal Pizza is asking the community for funds to finish opening its new brick-and-mortar restaurant. The fundraiser has raised $20,400 towards its $20,000 goal—helping cover costs such as supplies, labor, and rent.  WLVR

CULTURE NEWS

  • Today at Martin Guitar Museum, a new exhibit spotlights Frank Herbert Martin—showing his role in turning the company into a global icon and preserving the family legacy in local music. Museum curators spent six months selecting artifacts to tell the story of his leadership during the folk boom.  69 News
  • Saves the Day, a band that helped start emo-punk, will perform at Archer Music Hall at 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 9 — they will share the stage with Glassjaw and Soul Blind. Tickets cost between $50.05 and $117.40 and can be bought at the box office at 939 Hamilton St.  Lehigh Valley News
  • Bethlehem Steel once employed 31,000 workers and powered the region for over a century — and 30 years after its last beam was cast, local leaders worry its legacy of immigrant hard work may fade. Redevelopment on the old mill site aims to honor that legacy and keep the memory of its economic force alive — a vital chapter in our local history.  WLVR
  • Allentown Symphony will start its New Chamber Music Concert series with Innovation at the Da Vinci Science Center Curiosity Hall at 7 p.m. Oct. 28—tickets are $10 and free for students 21 and younger. EDUCATION NEWS

  • Muhlenberg College welcomed 10 new faculty members this fall who will teach in subjects such as chemistry, media, art, dance, mathematics, psychology, and public health—expanding its academic programs with experts from varied backgrounds.  Muhlenberg College
  • Bethlehem Area School District principals reported on Monday that data from over 2,100 classroom observations show students are following the new phone policy—only 4.3% of visits noted device use. The schools said students have reported better participation and improved academics while phone use is limited to approved times.  69 News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • PennDOT, state police, and other officials announced that more than 2,000 truck parking spaces will be added in Pennsylvania by the end of 2026 with new spots on I-78 in the Lehigh Valley and Berks County. The truck parking will be set up on Interstate on-ramps and at weigh stations—this will help drivers safely meet federal rest requirements.  69 News
