- ➤ A 12-inch water main broke on Wednesday along North 13th Street between Liberty and Gordon, flooding the street and forcing evacuations in Allentown. Lehigh County Authority responded by shutting off the water for repairs—crews plan to begin road restoration today. Lehigh Valley Live

- ➤ Dunkin' unveiled its Halloween lineup on Oct. 15 that features a new Candy Bar Signature Latte — a drink blending chocolate, toffee, pretzel and peanut butter flavors served hot or iced — and the return of its Spider Donut and revamped Halloween Munchkins Bucket. Rewards members may earn bonus points — 100 extra for Monday mobile orders through Oct. 27 and triple points on donut orders from Oct. 29 until Halloween — when they purchase these seasonal treats. - ➤ Weisenberg Lowhill Township Historical Society will host its Halloween Spooktacular on Oct. 19 from noon to 5 p.m. (4585 Werley’s Coroner Road, New Tripoli) where visitors can enjoy a spooky barn, face and pumpkin painting, guessing jars, and barrel rides. A costume parade for children (with prizes at 2 p.m.) and a scavenger hunt will also take place while food is offered for purchase and donations are accepted. Bethlehem Press

- ➤ The SES district will host a book character parade on Oct.24 at SES as part of its week-long Book Fair running through Oct.30—children in grades 2-4 will parade at 9:45 a.m. and those in K-1 at 10:30 a.m. The district also scheduled an early dismissal on Oct.17 along with other fall activities to offer families many seasonal options. - ➤ On Oct. 13, the East Penn School Board met in its regular room after power outages were fixed and recognized six students for their PSAT achievements while discussing the PSBA free speech policy language. - ➤ A 67-acre crop farm in North Whitehall Township was preserved yesterday as part of Pennsylvania's $5.7 million Farmland Preservation Program aimed at keeping the land available for crop production—state, county, and township funds helped complete the deal. - ➤ Fitch Ratings revised Jefferson Health’s outlook from Stable to Negative while the network maintained its A default rating amid a $196 million operating loss driven by a $170 million loss from its health plan—issues that arose after its acquisition of Lehigh Valley Health Network last year.
