- ➤ On October 20, dozens of Ritter Elementary students helped push a new Seagrave Marauder Pumper into its home at East Side Fire Station in Allentown to replace a truck that had been used for about 12 years. - ➤ East Penn Manufacturing in Lyon Station will launch its new Armor Alloy Technology for Deka HRC batteries that boost strength & reliability. - ➤ Police in Catasauqua said a student was found with a firearm on Innovative Arts Academy campus on Tuesday, October 21st and school officials took the gun before officers arrived — the incident is under investigation with no danger to the school community. 69 News

- ➤ Oktoberfest, presented by ArtsQuest at SteelStacks, drew thousands over two October weekends even though the first was hot and humid and the second was cool and wet. Attendees enjoyed activities such as wiener dog races, beer pong, ax throwing and live music — and they sampled a variety of German food. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey will bring a reimagined circus show to Allentown’s PPL Center from May 21—24. The show will have seven performances featuring new acts and performers from many countries, with shows at 7 p.m. on May 21 and 22, 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. on May 23, and noon and 4 p.m. on May 24. 69 News

- ➤ Penn State Lehigh Valley will host its third annual Business, Technology and Engineering Career Fair October 23 from 4 to 6 p.m. on its Center Valley campus — over 30 local and regional employers, including Air Products and Crayola, will join the free event for current students from Penn State’s Commonwealth Campuses and select community colleges. - ➤ On Saturday, October 18, Muhlenberg dedicated the home soccer and lacrosse field to Jeff Morris ’82 during halftime of the men’s soccer game with 50 guests including 21 alumni in attendance. Robert Morris and his wife (Mary Helen Morris) donated $1M for the renovated field that now hosts men’s and women’s sports while honoring Jeff’s lifelong soccer legacy as he faced a difficult cancer prognosis. - ➤ All Access with Andy Garcia is partnering with Evans Wealth Strategies to film a new segment on personal finance that explains why individuals should work with a qualified advisor. - ➤ Repair work on the Center Square waterline at 7th and Hamilton began yesterday and will run in five phases until next month—drivers face lane and turn restrictions during this first stage of the Center Square Redesign Project expected to finish by the end of 2026. 69 News
- ➤ The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry released its report for August and showed that the unemployment rate stayed at 4% as 7,000 fewer people were in the labor force. The report also noted that over 12,000 nonfarm jobs were added while the U.S. rate increased to 4.3%. Bethlehem Press
