COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Lehigh Valley motorcyclists will ride in the final Tucker’s Toy Run on Nov.1 to deliver over 5,000 toys to St. Luke’s Children’s Hospital. The 15-year event—started in 2011 in memory of Tucker Stuart—has given more than 60,000 toys to local pediatric patients and will have a rain date on Nov.2.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • Wilson Area LINCS Coalition for Families and Youth secured a $10,000 grant from Thrivent after earning over 700 votes out of 1,400 while beating 155 competitors + the funding will help the group continue programs addressing economic and public health needs in Wilson Area School District.  WLVR

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Motorists in Northampton County face lane restrictions and possible delays from PennDOT maintenance work that started on Sunday and will continue through Friday+ affecting daytime travel between 8 a.m. and 3 p.m. Projects include crack sealing on several roads and overnight lane closures on I-78 and Route 22 as well as reflector installation on Route 33+ with additional brush cutting subject to weather delays.  Lehigh Valley Live
  • Volunteer fire companies in rural areas or places with fewer than 10,000 residents can apply for grants of up to $15,000 from the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, with applications due electronically by 4 p.m. on Dec. 31 (total funding available is $882,000). The grants will cover training and equipment costs for fighting brush and forest fires and require matching funds.  Lehigh Valley Live

SPORTS NEWS

  • Indoor Auto Racing will return to the PPL Center on Jan. 9 and 10 to kick off the 2026 series with high-speed TQ midgets racing on a 1/10th-mile oval track in the arena. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. on Oct. 29—available at the arena website or box office—and the weekend will also include support divisions and a special Friday night dash.  Lehigh Valley News
