- ➤ PCFLV held a groundbreaking ceremony on Oct. 22 at its South Whitehall office at 4501 Crackersport Road to begin construction on an 1,088 sqft addition for program and event space. The project is expected to finish by March 2026 & organizers hope to celebrate the new space at the annual Hearts of Gold Gala. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ PPL Electric Utilities reminded customers to keep safety top of mind as they prepared for the holiday season by checking cords, lights, and decorations. The company offered eight tips, including LED bulb use and proper spacing from heat sources, to help avoid fire risks. Bethlehem Press
- ➤ Lehigh Valley Apparel Creations is hosting its annual clothing drive, offering a free LVAC sweatshirt or tee for anyone who donates a warm item at its shop (151 N. Chestnut St. in Bath) until Dec. 31. The drive aims to boost community spirit during the winter season. Bethlehem Press

CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Vandals damaged Allentown’s Lights in the Parkway holiday display over the weekend, causing over $100,000 in losses and disabling about 10% of its lights + city crews are cleaning up so pedestrians can join the Move It Monday walk at 5:30 p.m. and vehicles will return Tuesday night. WLVR

- ➤ The Trees of Historic Bethlehem exhibition returns with 21 decorated Christmas trees created by local volunteers and community members. Running through Jan. 11 at the Gemeinhaus, Kemerer Museum and Single Sisters’ House, the event offers guide booklets for families (admission is $25 for adults, $23 for teachers and veterans, and $14 for children ages 4+). - ➤ The Bethlehem Area School District announced Daniel Terry as the new principal of Hanover ES (pending board approval), effective Jan. 5, 2026. He brings nearly 20 years of BASD experience from roles as assistant principal and dean. Bethlehem Press
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Allentown EMS has partnered with Miller-Keystone Blood Center to launch a pre-hospital blood program that provides whole blood or components (usable up to 21 days) for severely injured patients before hospital arrival. Officials say the pilot, announced Monday, will give first responders a vital tool to save lives. WLVR
- ➤ Flu cases are on the rise across the region, with 508 reported in Lehigh County since Sept. 26, and doctors warn numbers may increase after the holidays. Dr. David O’Gurek of Lehigh Valley Health Network advises flu shots and preventive measures for high-risk groups — including children and older adults. Bethlehem Press
