County budget
Lehigh County commissioners adopted the 2027 budget Oct. 28 by a 7-2 vote, meeting the Oct. 31 deadline. Amendments adopted Oct. 14 cut real estate tax revenue by slightly more than $1.3 million and lowered the rate by 0.04 mills from County Executive Josh Siegel's proposed 4.45. Lehigh Valley Press
UGI penalty
UGI Utilities will pay a $150,000 civil penalty to settle claims that one of its contractors failed to follow installation protocol at numerous Lehigh Valley job sites. The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission approved the settlement Thursday. WFMZ
